Ms. Healy's home learning 25th - 29th May

Hi girls and boys smile,

Firstly, Eid Mubarak to all those in our class who are celebrating Eid, I hope you and your families enjoy this special celebration!

I hope you all had a great week. It was lovely to see some of you and your parents at the gate on Friday to collect your books. If you didn't get a chance to collect your books then you can contact me on Class Dojo or by email (jennifer.healy@warrenmountprimary.com) and I will arrange for you to get the books if you want them.

You should have all received your packages in the post by now, again let me know if you didn't so I can follow this up!

Here is your work for the week. As always it is just a suggestion for work you can do, you don't need to do it all. Keep up your reading ever day and do some writing, Maths and play with your toys. Regular exercise, healthy food and getting to bed early will help you to feel good during this time.

Reminders:

*Don't forget you can tune into RTE home school hub at 11am each day on RTE2 and follow up with activities on their website at https://www.rte.ie/learn/

*If you go out to any other teachers then don't forget to check their pages too.

*The school has a new mobile number. It is 0892412310.

Don't forget to send me any pictures of your work or a message just to say hello! I love hearing from you all.

Have a great week,

Ms. Healy smile

S.P.H.E

*I hope you all had a chance to write down some things in your happiness journals and had time to think about the things that you are grateful for. It can be hard to keep positive and motivated during this time so keeping a journal like this will help you to stay on track!

*This week I am linking a "Random act of kindness" chart. During the week try to do a few kind things for people, here are a few examples.....

Empty the dishwasher without being asked

Help your parents with the housework

Make a card for your Grandparents and post it to them

Send your friend a nice message to tell them you miss them

Record a video and send it to your cousin

Tidy your bedroom without being asked

Pay someone a compliment........... the list is endless! Send me a picture of your list!

Dictation and Handwriting

*It is important to spend a few minutes each day writing so that you don't forget how to form your letters! This week I am going to give you some sentences for dictation but be sure to be practising your handwriting when you are writing them down.

*Ask someone to call these sentences out, use your phonics and Dolch words knowledge to help you spell the words.

  • Ben fell off the big wall.
  • Tom is going for a walk to the park with his dad.
  • The girl and boy are playing in the garden.
  • I am going to go and see my friend.
  • It is hot and sunny at the beach today.
  • Yesterday he went down to his school.

You can look on YouTube for videos to help you with forming your letters correctly.

Reading

*Please make sure that you are reading every day. It is one of the most important things that you do while you are off school.

*Here are 3 more stories you can enjoy this week - sit back, relax and enjoy listening to them!

*Please read some of the books online too in the links below or any books you have at home.

*Make sure someone in your family listens to you reading out loud. Here are some questions that they can ask you before, during and after you have read the book (just pick a few questions, not them all).
