Today was Wolrd Book Day and Fifth Class had a fantastic day celebrating reading. One of the activities the children had been working on for the past few days was a special collaborative project with Junior Infants.
Junior Infants drew a range of imaginative characters, and Fifth Class were given these drawings as inspiration. Using their narrative writing skills, the students created original stories based on the characters they received.
Today, Fifth Class had the opportunity to visit the Junior Infant classroom and read their finished stoires aloud to the young artists who created the characters. It was wonderful to see the excitement on the Junior Infants' faces as they heard their characters come to life.
It was a lovely way to celebrate World Book Day and bring both classes together through storytelling and creativity.
