World Book Day was a wonderful celebration of reading and creativity in our school. We had a fantastic morning where parents and siblings joined us in the classroom to share stories and enjoy reading together. Later, we collaborated with 5th Class on a fun storytelling project. The Junior Infants began by drawing imaginative characters. Together with the 5th Class pupils they brainstormed the setting, problem and solution for their stories. Using these ideas, the 5th Class students wrote amazing stories and then returned to read them aloud to the Junior Infants. It was a lovely experience that encouraged teamwork, creativity, and a shared love of books.
