Senior Infants Group (Ms Tolan) 01.06.20 – 05.06.20
Hi all, hope everyone had a good week last week and that you are getting out to enjoy the fabulous weather that we are having lately!
The word families that I would like you to focus on this week are ab, eb and ib.
Here are some useful tips to teach the word families
- Have children write (or dictate) a sentence or a story with some of the -ib words and then illustrate it.
- Ask students to pick two to four words from the list, copy them on paper, and then draw
- Make a flower stem with a round shape on top and print -ib inside the circle
- Cut out petal shapes to be added to the flower. Students take a blank "petal," write an –ib word, and, if possible, illustrate it. Each –ib word gets added around the centre to make a Word Family Flower.
- Also, just to remind you that Twinkl is a really great resource which is free at the moment. There are loads of great resources and information for parents if required.

Hopefully you got a chance last week to log onto Collins connect and that you started Pink Band B books. Following on from that is Red Band A Books
Also, another great website is:

where you will find lots of short reading activities to help your child.
Have a great week ahead and you can contact me at norma.hanrahan@warrenmountprimary.com if you have any queries at all.
Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend!
