Ms. Healy's First class - May 18th-22nd

Hello girls and boys smile,

I hope you all had a great week and enjoyed the sunny weather. It's great to get outside and get lots of fresh air.

I hope you all received your packages in the post and are enjoying them, if you didn't get then let me know on Class Dojo or by email.

I will be at the school this Friday 22nd May from 12pm until 1pm to give out your books. Your parents can collect the books from the gate, from a safe distance. Looking forward to seeing you all then.

I've heard from lots of you this week and have loved seeing all your work and hearing what you are up to!

Don't forget if you're not on Class Dojo, you can still contact me on my email address at jennifer.healy@warrenmountprimary.com.

Here is your work for the week. As always it is something to pick and choose from, you don't need to do it all. Keep up your reading ever day and do some writing, Maths and play with your toys. Regular exercise, healthy food and getting to bed early will help you to feel good during this time.

Reminders:

*Don't forget you can tune into RTE home school hub at 11am each day on RTE2 and follow up with activities on their website at https://www.rte.ie/learn/

*If you go out to any other teachers then don't forget to check their pages too.

*The school has a new mobile number. It is 0892412310.

Talk to you all soon,

Ms. Healy smile

S.P.H.E

*I hope you enjoyed the "I am an amazing person" activity last week and also had time to write some things that you felt grateful for. Keep looking after yourself during this time and talk to someone if you are feeling sad or anxious.

*This week I am linking two activities below. The first is a "Happiness journal" where you can write down things that make you happy each day. The second is the mindfulness activity cards that you can use one or twice a day to help you feel calm and relaxed.

Handwriting

*It is important to spend a few minutes each day writing so that you don't forget how to form your letters! Just practise one letter each day and be sure to practise the small letter and the capital letter.

*This week practise the letters Tt, Uu, Vv, Ww and Xx (capitals and small letters).

*You can copy down these sentences that contain these letters:

(T, t): Talha told his friend Tim to turn off the T.V.

(U, u): Under the bridge there is a unicorn.

(V, v): Vincent and Vivenne are very good at football.

(W, w): "Where did you see the whale?", asked Wendy.

(X, x): The x-ray machine took six x-ray pictures.

You can look on YouTube for videos to help you with forming your letters correctly.

Reading

*Please make sure that you are reading every day. It is one of the most important things that you do while you are off school.

*Here are 3 stories you can enjoy this week - sit back, relax and enjoy listening to them!

*Please read some of the books online too in the links below or any books you have at home.

*Make sure someone in your family listens to you reading out loud. Here are some questions that they can ask you before, during and after you have read the book (just pick a few questions, not them all).
